Once the holidays are over, how do you fit all those decorations back in the garage and make them easier to unpack next year?
Listen to ON SUNROOMS or read the text below:
Before you undeck the halls, take some photos and note what you want to change next year. If you didn't use it this year, don't store it. Buy missing items right after the holidays and pay a quarter of the price!
Instead of piling everything into one enormous, backbreaking box, pack smaller containers labeled for each area of the house. Things you need early-like holiday linens, children's books, or cookie cutters-can go in an “open me first” box, so you don't have to rummage for them.
This is the time to get rid of holiday lights that are worn out or don't work. To keep the rest from tangling, wrap them around coffee cans or panels cut from cardboard boxes with slits cut in the edges. Remember to attach their spare bulbs and fuses.
Radio is a newly launched daily radio spot carried on more than 60 stations around the country (and growing). You can get your daily dose here, by listening to-or reading-Bob's 60-second home improvement radio tip of the day.
